The Fort Erie Race Track is one of the oldest (since 1897) and among the most picturesque horse-racing tracks in North America. If you're in town, stop by to take in some racing. Even if you're not into gambling, the racing is entertaining and there are three restaurants on-site. The Prince of Wales Stakes has been Fort Erie's premier race and is the second jewel in Canada's Triple Crown of Racing since 1959.
The Carousel Restaurant offers very reasonably-priced and high quality roadhouse menu in the Slots area of the Track. The Prince of Wales Room offers fine dining and an awesome Sunday Prime Rib Buffet. The Turfside Bar & Grill offers a more relaxed atmosphere for lunch or cocktails. The Carousel Restaurant is open 7-days/week while the other restaurants are open on live racing days. An outdoor BBQ package is also available during the summer.
